Common Myths About Bras

A lot of women believe some “facts” about bras that aren't really factual. There are a lot of common misconceptions of what a bra does and doesn't do, on how it should look and how it should be taken care of. Women usually believe in these myths and what they hold true affects the way they shop and wear their bras.

A good bra can last a lifetime. Any type of bra have a short shelf life of about six to nine months. They can still remain in good shape if they are hand washed, stored in a proper way, and given regular breaks. Smaller bras also tend to last a little longer than larger ones because the bands aren't stretched too much.

Wearing your bra in sleep increases breasts perkiness. There are no real proofs that sleeping in a bra will help breasts look better. Wearing a bra, sleeping or not, doesn't really make any big difference in breast shaping. The secret to having a perky chest is by wearing the right bra size.

White bras are least visible. Some women think that wearing a white bra under a light colored shirt makes it less visible, but actually, the best option for this case is to wear a nude or flesh colored bra. Choose one that matches your skin tone; go lighter or darker depending on your color. The closer your bra color is to your skin tone, the more invisible it will look.
